Stephanie Spanarkel

So if I can be honest (and as this is my personal blog I am going to give myself permission), I had no idea walking into my Writing for Online Media class would result in the creation of my first ever blog. At first, I felt a little intimidated at the thought. A personal blog?  What will I even write about? I slightly panicked at the thought of having to come up with a creative topic. So instead, I chose to focus my blog around one individual symbol or character-- the letter "S." Each week I plan to pick a different subject or word beginning with the letter and use it as my inspiration for that particular post.

That being said, I'm going to keep it simple today and start by introducing myself. Today, S is for Stephanie Spanarkel.

My name is Stephanie Anne Spanarkel and I am a 21 year old senior at Fordham University. I study Communications and Media Studies and am earning a minor in Business Administration. I am proud to say that I am from New Jersey. Believe it or not, the charming casts of both the Jersey Shore and Real House Wives of New Jersey are not a fair indicator of the state itself (neither is the smelly Turnpike for the record).

I think it is appropriate to include some random facts about myself since in the upcoming weeks I'll most likely be blogging about subjects that I'm familiar with. I'm a New York Giants fan, which would have been clear to you if happened to see me Sunday  night watching the game. In addition to the Giants, I love to run and bake. My two favorite television shows are Grey's Anatomy and Glee. If you are also a Glee fan, then you may have figured out where I got the idea for my blog title from.

Additionally, I'm one of four children and one of 32 first cousins on my mother's side. As if that isn't weird enough, my grandparents, aunts and uncles all thought it would be a great idea for everyone to live on the same block. Needless to say, it was never boring.

Since this is only my first post, I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Sayonara!
