Empire State of Mind

GIANTS GIANTS GIANTS!

If you don't already know by now (which every American should) the New York Giants have won the Superbowl. Personally, I could not have been happier this past Sunday as I watched the wonderful GMEN defeat the Patriots for the title.

The Giants winning was extremely exciting for me, as my roommates will attest to. As a resident of Rutherford, New Jersey, my house is less than five minutes away from the Giants' home stadium. If proximity alone is not enough to emphasize my excitement, the fact that the Giants defeated the Patriots four years ago for the title should help clarify how much I enjoyed watching the team repeat history.

For those of you who haven't figured  it out by now, this week S is for Superbowl. However, Superbowl is not the only "S" theme of the week.

Victor Cruz, a member of the champion team, made a great deal of press this season with his victory salsa dancing routine. After every touchdown Cruz celebrated by salsa dancing for the audience in the end zone. Therefore, not only is S for the Superbowl this week, but S is for Salsa.

Whether you are a Giants fan or not (which then I am very sorry for you), I hope you enjoyed both the Superbowl and the Salsa-ing this past Sunday. For those Patriot fans who think Cruz's victory dance is nothing more than an attention-seeking ploy, then I hope you at least enjoyed some salsa and chips while watching New England go down to the true Superbowl Champions. Sorry Tom Brady.
